The Mission of the Descendants of Freedmen of the Five Civilized Tribes Association, a 501c4 tax exempt corporation, is to provide education about the history and culture of the African-Indian freedmen and their descendants of the 5 tribes.

Almost all funds raised by both Descendants of Freedmen Association and African Indians of the 5 Tribes Foundation have been used for litigation fees. [Donations to Descendants of Freedmen Association are not tax deductible although donations to African Indians Foundation ARE tax deductible. ]
The gofundme campaign “Federal Court Legal Fund Freedmen Descendants” started in July 2020 is raising legal fees for future litigation in Federal court for Creek and Seminole freedmen Descendants based on current status of Creek and Seminole Nation freedmen descendants and to pay for past legal hours incurred by the Velie Law firm for the Cherokee freedmen descendants litigation. [Contributions to the Federal Court Legal Fund are tax deductible.]

If applying for a voting membership, you must establish that you descended from a person who was listed as a freedmen of the 5 tribes on the Dawes Rolls.
